I’m looking for a 70s Ford pickup for a build.

Rust free, complete body are top priorities. Don’t care about a little patina but don’t want to have to rebuild the floor pans.

Don’t care if it runs or drives, frankly. Engine, trans and axles will be rebuilt anyway.

Prefer 4x4 but willing to work with a good candidate in 4x2.

Please call or text with any leads. 325.280.2810

Thank you,
MDL

I have what your looking for in the barn but it will be the last thing that leaves this place. 79 F250 4x4 with auto and 3:54 gears 351m. No alterations Not a dent one in it. Only had around 70k miles on it when i bought it back in late 80s. Has just over 200k now. i guarantee it will get 8 miles per gallon all day long. Ha

Yea my buddy had a 78 F-250 High Boy 4x4 in high school. I still love the look of that truck.

I love them too! My buddy said he looked at new trucks for $80K and decided he would rather spend half that and build the truck he really wants. So we are looking.

Send me a lead on one if you have it! This should be a fun project!

Somebody’s grandma has one sitting in a barn somewhere.
Somebody drives by one every other day and hasn’t thought twice about it.
Somebody has one that doesn’t run great and they don’t know what to do with it.

Send them my way!

My ‘79 F150 w/A/T and 351m got 6mpg. I never knew the rear end gear ratio.

I think you can find one already built for around 30k, That's well below the 80k.

Certainly! It depends on what has been done to it and when and of course, what you’re wanting for it.

The M series of engines were the worst ever made by Ford so crappy milage isn't surprising. You can more than double that with a lot of mods and I did a 400m build for a client some years back and the improvements were unbelievable.

I have a 68 f250 camper special that I stuck a 428 in but don't want to part with it and I've owned it for about 34 years.

This 351 m has been a good one except for the gas mileage. If i change engines its getting a 12 valve Cummins.

Yeah, I try to do business here first. It’s entirely selfish because with only one exception buying from and sellling to THF members has been painless and pleasant!
