Call it what you will. I delivered this to the oldest granddaughter this afternoon. It turned out Ok, though I rarely paint woodworking projects. But that’s what she wanted.

I added purse hooks, so it would be officially girly girlish.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

The hooks were quite expensive, so if you can make them, that’s great. I think the total cost of the wood I used, which was Poplar, was about $50, but I got twice what I needed. The 4 hooks were $22 each from Lee Valley. The paint used, which is good stuff and expensive, was Behr Dynasty, and I have enough paint left to paint ant least another 200 coat trees.

The design and construction of the thing was simple, and Woodcraft sold me the plans for $6. I could email them to you. Don’t tell Woodcraft.

Looks very nice. It goes with what she has already.

Knowing women, you will be asked to make another one in a couple of years that matches her updated style. I am sure you will have just as much fun making another one.

I was buried in wood chips all day. When I made the coat rack and delivered it, I also turned a nice wooden bowl from Cherry and put my Dark Wine Cherry stain on it. Gave it to the granddaughter with the coat rack. And what that resulted in was the daughter saying she wanted a bowl just like it, and so did our step granddaughter. I did all the glue ups and did a bunch of turning today. Shaping and hollowing is done, sanding and staining yet to go, then 3 or 4 coats of finish. Trying to get it done for Christmas.

And, I just got a text from a niece asking me to turn some stuff.

Kinda like I was in my knife making and shooting days. I didn’t have enough sense to wear ear protection. Now I have hearing aids that I seldom wear but can’t hear chit.
