Dang it. Filled the last feeder just now. It wasn’t empty, which was a surprise, and I figured the battery had died before all the corn was thrown. So, I filled it to the brim, put the new battery in, and hit test. And I got dust. Dang feeder is plugged. I’m gonna have to dip all the corn out to fix the problem. Oh happy day.
Just venting…
And things were going so well…

Been there. One reason I carry a plastic milk jug with the top cut off in the back of the truck, easy scooping.

sounds like moisture got in the feeder, caused the corn to clump up. I had that happen to one of my feeders out on my Ozona place, realized the lid had several little pin holes. I dropped the timer box off, jabbed a stick up into the barrel until corn started flowing freely, slapped timer box back on and replaced the lid. Yeah, you dump some corn out but much easier than scooping it all out.

This feeder has that spinner that retracts after spinning, so I can’t go in from below. I’ll use the Jimbo1 approach, dump the corn in the tractor bucket, clean the feeder, and scoop it from the bucket to the feeder. That ought to work. If I need to, I’ll take Honda 2200 and a shop vac for the final clean up. The good news is that I now have a plan. The bad news is that I’m the guy to do the labor. It’s alllllways something.

Great news! The wife followed me (on the tractor) with the Kubota. I was gonna scoop out all the corn and clean the feeder so it would throw again. But…the feeder must have finally thrown out all the garp and dust and was throwing corn just fine. Man, what a great auto-fix. I had been dreading that job.

I keep a long jack handle in the truck, run it down the center and breakup whatever has it clogged. All my feeders are stand and fill so pretty easy to do.
