It’s legit.
Global rescue or Ripcord are the two I recommend.
But, you hope to never have to use it.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

They cover everywhere but the arctic circle and Antarctic. I had to go with a special medivac company when I went to Antarctica that covers that region.

Absolutely, that’s why it’s called Global Rescue. They have different tiers but they even have a package where if you get kidnapped they send in the mercenaries to extract you.

Legit. Have it. Thankfully never used it. I also have Garmin's GEOS (a competing product to Global Rescue, based in Montgomery, TX - or was at the time that Garmin acquired them) for my inReach Mini 2 satellite communicator. Global Rescue can be contacted from Garmin devices without having to go through GEOS.
Note: These services are for emergencies not simply because you parked your bicycle in a handicap spot and it disappeared, so you're scared.

Yes, But ABU-Sayyaf is more predominant where I go in Mindanao region I am not too concerned about kidnappers, I am more concernred with medical issues or motorcyle accident and getting my arse out of that 3rd world country with 3rd world hospitals and back to USA and modern and up to date Medical facilities.

I have a membership, but have never used it, thankfully. I did quite a bit of research before getting the membership, and it's legit. I didn't pay for the merc upgrade, but hopefully someday I will have an interesting enough life that I think that's necessary.

Our outfitter says there are more problems hunting in Mexico than any other country.

Depending on what all you’re wanting, insurance is a good idea. I found this website and it offers a lot of different policies with different coverages. When I went to Africa I felt compelled to get insurance because I am a DieHard bowhunter and if my bow didn't show up with me, I wanted some cash to run to the nearest archery shop so I could hunt the very next day. https://www.insuremytrip.com/A flight delay on our return trip resulted in a missed connection and a hotel stay in Germany. The insurance reimbursement my wife and I both even though we just got the one room.
