Returning to hunt family land in Elkhart after 10 year lease in Hamilton has sold presents some challenges. Mainly there are no processors close. There was on C&C but they have closed. Anyone else know of any in the elkhart, palesting, grapeland are that are good???
You have to remember, they might not be drinking as much as we are.

Do not know how far you are willing to travel, but Cherokee Deer Processing in Maydelle is very good. Reasonable prices too. Took my deer there last year for the first time. It was probably the best breakfast sausage I have had. Used to take my deer to J&S outside of Fairfield, but they have got a lot of bad reviews since I last used them. Might have changed owners by now, I do not know. Was not real impressed with them though when I did use them, so no big deal.

J&S north of Fairfield, I've used several times over the years.

You can go on down the road to Sportsman’s Memory in Grapeland, haven’t personally used them for meat, just taxidermy. I personally use Herrington in Brushy Creek, but that may be far for you.

Taxidermy and processing place in Crockett on the loop. Can't remember the name. Went with a neighbor. He's been satisfied with their service.
I do my own. I always know what I have in the freezer that way
