That's one hell of a first, last, 400th -- any buck! How you "got her done" without spending at least $2,000 on the latest "flagship" bow is a real puzzlement.

Very Nice Buck. Congrats. What part of Parker Co? I have seen some really nice ones around the weatherford area. Thank you. Exactly right. His 10 point buddy cleared out the other bucks, and I just rolled up on him and his two does this evening with my 4wheeler. We all were coming to the feeder at once. Amazing show they put on right in front of me with the motor idling.

According to records of Texas Big Game Awards website; this deer I harvested on 10/13/23 is the new record for Parker County. He scored 194 2/8 Gross/183 Total Net. He qualifies for both Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young. This is my first whitetail deer; my first deer in Texas; and first deer harvested on my ranch. Never stop dreaming! Set-up: Maverick Blind elevated 4 foot on a platform over tank/pond on one side; feeder on the other (highly recommend the peanut butter corn). Equipment: Xpedition Compound Bow (bought used for $300) @ 55 lbs. UPDATE:
After going through the paces with (1)Texas Big Game scorer; (3)Pope & Young scorers; and (1)Boone & Crockett scorer for RE-SCORE…
The consensus is the first score of 183 was wrong by far. Official score is now 168. Still Pope & Young; but, NOT the Parker County record. He will be attending awards ceremony on August 17th in Ft. Worth.
All in all…still a great first whitetail buck, and this entire experience has been educational. Thanks to all that cheered.
