My, now deceased, brother was a precision shooting competitor. He bought a big lathe and started cutting precision barrels for those guys. He made a pretty good business out of it in his garage. These guys build their own guns.

Wondering if that is still legal.,

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

The wording in the "Manufacturing of Firearms" consistently states "Receiver".

So, your deceased brother was using a receiver that had been tracked from the manufacturer to the first FFL that received it, and then transfered it. (Had all that been in place when he got the reciever).

After that, it was in the wind, like millions of others. Had he purchased the reciever/action/whole rifle legally (and I am sure he did) then his modifications were only that, modifications. He didn't make the receiver/action portion of the rifles.

If I read it right, they only ruled on the emergency injunction. They have not yet heard (or accepted) the case, right?
