Well, it’s been a while. The hogs haven’t been cooperating and I injured my left hand last Spring, both of which worked against me with respect to hunting hogs. The hand is better after some surgery, and the hogs have recently been making appearances. I got out last week for a few nights and managed to shoot four, of which I recovered two.

The first one was a 200 Lb sow, pregnant with nine hoglets-to-be on board. She was pretty fat and there’s already some sausage in the freezer. I heard the bullet hit but she started running. Luckily with a bullet in her she could only make about half speed and I got lucky with a head shot on the run. The next night I shot another which was a 130 Lb boar that went straight down with a shot to the shoulder. I hit another one on the run but it made it off the property. I went out a third night and shot another hog but apparently didn't get a goot hit and it too managed to flee off of the property.
