Northern doves are pouring in this morning in groups of 6-25. It's been constant for over an hour. We've had a good weekend, but this morning is unreal. Little front this afternoon has them on the move.

I teal hunted this morning, but saw several flocks of big doves. Which I was dove hunting, shooting those northern dove is so much fun.

They’ve shown up in lots of places in the last week or so.

What do you think next weekend will look like?

I have no clue. Doves are extremely unpredictable and can make an outfitter look stupid. I tell everyone what I'm seeing today. Predicting doves has hardly ever worked out for me.

I will say that they are still here this afternoon. It seems some have stalled out here.

We had half the birds this weekend than we did last week in frio county.

Bell County has many more birds this week after the storm!

Live in southern Mclennan county. Neighbor called and told me to look up. Had several groups of 5-20 flying by.

We have a bigger cold front coming in next Sunday, probably give you all more birds form just South of us.

Well, the big push is through headed south. Not near as many birds yesterday.

Sure wish it would cool off. I want to hunt out west, but also want to camp, still too hot for camping in a dove field. Need it to get below 60 for those bugs to go away.

And after the past rain the mosquitoes are BAD!!!
Not another cool down till late next week. Suppose to be in the mid 90's for the next 8-9 days.

We were tearing it up South of SanAntonio for South opener weekend (Sept 14th)!
Never seen so many dove before at our ranch there, going back 30 years!
I shot a whole case of shells in 5 days - even managed to hit a few!!

Even when we left there were still covey's of 6 to 20 still blowing by in every direction mornings and evenings.

Update: - Just spent the last 6 days driving from Texas to Pennsylvania for a funeral (wife won't fly) and back:
- there were still tons of dove all over still up in Pennsylvania (north of Pittsburg)

It was dead yesterday in Bell County. Waiting on the next front that is forecast late next week.

Hunting west Texas tomorrow (Haskell), looking forward to it. Have not dove hunted since open weekend. Gonna hunt saturday afternoon and sunday morning.

Pretty slow here too. Next front will be here Tuesday-Wednesday next week.

My brother's sunflower patch on the Knox/Baylor Co lines is loaded up right now. They've been there a week or so. Caught a limit yesterday afternoon and a dozen this morning.

Had good birds in one field on Wednesday, put guys in there yesterday afternoon..hardly anything. I don't know where they went, but they went. Slowest weekend so far this year.

I am south west of Graham. I'm not here dove hunting, but we have fields recently planted in wheat. Lots of grain visible on top too. Usually Dove would be all over it. I have not seen a dove on the property last couple of days. Nor any other kinds of birds for that matter.
