Does anyone know the story on this timer company? Searching shows they're still in business in Burnet, TX, but their website pulls up a very hinky and bizarre looking site. 'Had one saved on Amazon, but it shows "no longer available."

Very similar to "The Timer". I got one with a used feeder I bought about 4 years ago, so it's several years old. But, it positively is the best timer I've ever experienced. 'Never loses or gains 1 minute on the clock, very reliable, as long as you keep the AAs replaced. I have no idea how old it is. Made in Canada, but with a Texas logo on the face. confused2 Precursor to "The Timer"?

We have their feeders and they moved from Burnet to their ranch last year and and to my knowledge not doing business anymore. We have started to change over the The Timer when they go out. Back when they were in business you could send them into them and they would fix them for almost nothing. We have 32 of their feeders and they are great and has stood the test of time for sure.

Yup. Had several and always great!! Had one go out this summer and had to replace with the timer. Great company and hate to see them go.

Take Care,

Back when I was making feeders I highly recommended them for the simple reason I have two that are probably more twenty years old and one varible that is at least ten years old. Glenn was a great guy but apparently he let someone take charge that didn't take care of their customers and they went down hill last few times i've been by the gate to the building was closed, too bad they made some darn good timers, never had a customer complain.
The Timer would be my pick today and if mine fail thats what I will replace them with.

yep, they used to be just south of Burnet on hwy 281, just past Dan McBride's vet clinic. I still have one of the hanging blue plastic feeders (holds 2 bags of corn) but have replaced the HCR timer with The Timer. I used to swing by their shop to drop off HCR timers for repair (the connectors frequently broke off inside the housing) and they would usually just hand me a replacement. Later they would take mine and tell me they would call me if it could be repaired, evidently they started potting the cases to reduce broken connectors and broken solder joints inside, once potted, no longer repairable is what they led me to believe. I think I still have a few that are in working condition in my spares box.

They are the best timers I have ever used as well.
Looks like you can still get them on Amazon:

Went to Dans many times and noticed those blue feeders. I think Dan used them when he occasionally used feeders.

x1,000 on HCR!

We have one still running that is a 2003 vintage. 20 years. Believe it or not the barrel it was mounted to started rusting through and we gave it new life on a significantly-less-weathered one.

I found their website and you can order the non warranty ones for like $45. I put them in the cart but did not go through with the purchase.

Texas hunter is my favorite. Have 2 that are still going from the mid 90’s. Bought 3 in 2007 all are still going great.

I have a few pushing 25 years old. Have a few “The Timer” pushing 20 years old. No reason for me to own anything else.

That applies to more than The Timer in this category.
