Holy Smokes, been looking at them and it's like trying to buy a battery powered drill, there's 47 choices eek2.

Some with the one way screening where you can see out but critters can't see in say you can shoot an arrow through the material?? Have any of you guys done this? I can't see myself taking a 40 yard shot at a trophy deer through the screen.
Thanks,

I use the ameristep brick house blinds. I close every window except for one in the corner and shoot from there.

I don’t trust shooting thru the mesh.

IMO there is no need for the mesh as it’s pitch black inside the blind with only one window open which I leave open 24/7

I hate the hub pop-up blinds- I have broken so many rods trying to fold them back up. Many years ago, a friend turned me on to the the grounds blinds made in Michigan- go to www.luckyshuntingblinds.com. They are much easier to put up and especially take down, get in and out of, roomy inside. I see their new website doesn't show pricing that I found, but pricing in not much different that the higher priced hub blinds. Check them out- may have to call for pricing.

DON'T shoot threw screen.

Made my ground blind, PVC pipe.
Modeled after the (walkers) 3sides folds up.
Easier ta carry. Use the burlap cammo,
& the leaf like cammo.
Set up with open side by a big tree.
Got pic some weres.

Ive been using the game winners, they seem to last 2/3 seasons.

Heavy rebar stakes are a must, so they dont blow into a tree.

I have a Barronett that I got on sale a few years back. It is pentagon shape and holds 2 comfortably and 3 if we sit right. It has been fairly easy to set up and I was dreading it b/c i've broken my fair share of hubs and poles. The one thing I didn't plan for was the winds when leaving it out all season. now i tie it down with dirt anchors and clips so it doesn't blow into the honey locust. It has made it through 3 seasons. When the sun comes up it looks like tiny stars in the roof from all of the tiny punctures, ha.

Cage blinds has a real one, that will last, way over built , and water proof , big and with roof supports

its about 699 not much more than a double bull
but It is really built and will outlast other popups
it is not one you want to carry in
its one you put out for the whole season

As a general rule I just buy the biggest one I can find on Amazon. Sometimes I leave them out for 6 mths or more and they get a beating from the wind and rain. I have had some last for a decade, used them for an ice fishing shack, turkey, elk, deer. Always try to keep a couple around. Had one in Bandera for a long time on an axis place and so many times I would show up in the dark to try to get it out of the trees or tip it back over and stake down before daylight came.
Recently I built a platform for one with carpet inside so my wife might venture in there with me, off the ground far from slithery stuff and carpet is quiet and comfy. Platform was made from some bad oak I cut on the mill at about 1" thick, full of knots etc... Yes I shoot through the screen often. Axis deer are so spooky that they pick up movement so easy, whitetails not as much. [Linked Image]

Noticed what appeared to be a good one-man blind at Academy today for $79.99. It seemed much like the popular "Dog House" pop ups but with a somewhat different roof support design that uses shorter supports that are less likely to break with age.

I have three of the Dog House blinds and have been very pleased with them. But I also take them down and store them away once the season closes.
