I think this heat wave is going to really put a hurting on the hunts this year. I am actually only applying for maybe 1/2 the hunts that I usually do in past years. Just making sure I get at least 1 in every category to keep my points going. We need some rain.

Wednesday they draw for the next round of draw hunts. I know it's a long shot but I am looking forward to this set of draw hunts.

Private Lands, Pronghorn - 11 points
Private Lands, Either Sex - 14 points

Something has to give. However, I was very selective where there were options.

Points cubed those are some good numbers. I have double digit points in Archery, but being a drought year I don't really want to draw the Chap, so I am passing on the archery deer and mule deer this year to preserve my points for a better year. Pronghorn I am up to 26-27 points, but I bet I still don't draw it.

That is a lot of points for pronghorn. You might not get picked but you are definitely a front runner.

What's the difference between the ones you buy when you buy your license verses the ones you buy through the drawn hunt site. I paid at both places and don't understand what I buy each year. Never been picked either...

Are you talking about the different tags you buy when you renew? Those just give you the legal right to hunt, not a place to do so. The draw hunts are a lottery to hunt different game at a specific site, on a specific date.

The ones you buy in the same place where you buy your license are the Big Time Hunts which are also drawn, same as the ones on draw hunt site, just more 'premium'.

No luck on Archery WT, Javi, or PL Pronghorn. Maybe Pronghorn.

Well I just drew Javelina at James Daughtry. Should be a fun little hunt. I had 7 points in that category. Struck out on all others today. Had 13 points in Proghorn and was hoping this was the year. Maybe next time lol.

No private land pronghorn.
