Our Bobcats (we have tons) have learned to hang out at the deer feeders where they lay in wait to ambush squirrels, dove and redbirds.
I have videos of them catching squirrels and routinely find piles of feathers off the birds they catch.

These urban Bobcats, smart. Hide in plain sight. No hunting pressure, plenty of food and water. They get huge. Same for the coyotes. I've killed plenty of Bobcats, maybe one the size of this one. Come winter with a full coat he'll look really big.

On occasion if a really large 'Bob' comes along....I might take that one. Big male here.

That cat looked like he needed a meal or two.

We have a pair where I work in Las Colinas in Irving. She looks like a typical bobcat with her coloring, but the male is melanistic. He's almost black and very large as we have a ton of rabbits on the property.

I always thought bobcats were pretty interesting. Most people will probably never see one, but most people probably have been seen by them.

I never have, but have caught a couple on trail cam. I might have seen one looking right at me, driving around my new place, the first weekend I owned it. By the time my brain registered just the face through the grass, he/she had slipped away.

For a short time I was on an East Texas place where there were none, according to the other hunters on the place. I killed three there. I have no desire to shoot these urban cats in my neighborhood.

Was fishing LL in the Highland Village area and had 3 adult bobcats come walking down the shore together in broad daylight right behind some of those huge houses on the lake. I was thinking some rich lady is going to wonder what happened to her pet fluffy Cool pictures!!

Have seen a few while sitting in my stand and have seen a whole family while in a ground blind in the LBJ Grasslands. Would hear them during mating season when we lived across from Samsom Park off Lake Worth dam growing up. Will never shoot one.

But when this one popped out of the brush up in the Panhandle I didn't hesitate to shoot him. The skin laid flat taped 46 inches from the nose to the tip of the hairs on the tail.

This past season opening morning of rifle I went to climb into the stand. I found the red wasp had constructed a nice condominium in my seat, after taking a sting I decided to call an audible. Sat under a white oak with low hanging branches about 15 yds in front of my stand. About 10, I saw a bobcat walk into a cedar/persimmon thicket that’s 5 yds to my right. About 30 seconds later, I thought he busted a bedded deer but out comes a rabbit. Rabbit dang near runs into me making a run for it across the pasture, bobcat was about 3 seconds behind it. Slammed on the brakes about 10’ from my face. I had the wind in my favor but it knew something wasn’t quite right. We sat there and stared at each other for 15-20 sec and it meandered off. Wasn’t a big one, little bigger than a house cat. Pretty cool to see the behavior face to face.
