Killed a nice buck when it was damn near 90* in December. Sweated my rolos off.
Killed my last mule deer on a day that was in the 80’s. Killed a Bull elk on a warm day during the full moon
I’ve killed more good animals on Hot days, windy days and during the full moon than on days that were “perfect”. Go figure.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I can’t remember at all but maybe 80s. Not too often though.

My first buck was killed shirtless walking rimrock. it was at least 90F in 1982. 2 shots running with a 30-30. First one hit the back leg joint, second one hit him in the neck. I never hunted out of a blind til the early 90’s.

I’ve never hunted deer in shorts and don’t plan too.

I’ve never hunted deer in shorts and don’t plan too. I’ve not yet hunted whitetails in shorts, but did hunt in Africa in shorts. It’s different, but damn it’s comfortable

Missed opening day and got to the blind at 3 PM on the 1st Sunday of the season in 2012. It was just over 90 and miserable. There was one reason and only one reason -

I’m not sure on the temperature but it was way to hot to be in a black plastic stand with only 2 windows in west Texas. I was down to wearing only my underwear with sweat rolling off my head. I’ll stay home now unless it’s below 70 degrees, I’m simply not that mad at them any more.

we were hunting the escondido ranch on the pipline in mexico it was really flat we were all hunting in 20 ft tripods that i had made, it was early and really hot deer wernt moving so we were glassing each other out of bordom, and all of a sudden there was a big blob of white in the sky , after a good look it was one of the hunters (rather rolly polly) had striped down to a white t shirt and boxers, we all got a good laugh out of that

Opening week of archery (October) in eastern Oklahoma about 15 years ago. Was 93 that afternoon when I headed out. Had cooled off a little when I shot a doe about 30 minutes before dark. Was in the Arkansas River bottoms and thought the mosquitoes were going to carry me off before I got her field dressed and loaded on the ATV.

December 21'st 1970 on my birthday. IIRC it was 91 degrees in Junction Texas. Big fat guy I was partnered with had me walking the draws to run out any deer. He stayed on top for a shot. Anywho I ran out a good buck. He shot and missied. I nailed him on a dead run @ +/- 75 yds.
He was pissed cause I shot "his" deer. Before this they would not let me hunt turkey with a rifle. After that, they relented.

First deer to pop out. It was Sunday 3:30. Got him down and then struggled to get him in the truck. No one was at camp due to the heat. Prudhomme had been on call at a well blowout and returned weerily at 9:30 that evening. He got himself a drink a drink and at about 10 PM, he asked why the cooler was running.

Same. 15-20 years ago I would bow hunt in shorts, t-shirt, and snake boots when it was in the 70-80s or more but when it gets above 70 now I'm done.
