Yes, when all the cabin dwellers leave on Sunday at check out time of 11 am , traffic backs up from Broken Bow all the way thru Hochatown. We don't even go out until after 2 on Sunday!! Crazy traffic on holiday weekends.

There are no "lake houses" there- yet. A lot of the land is national forest land. Some is state land and some is indian lands around the lake at least.
There are some cabins on the mountain fork (above the lake).
It has gotten ruined by the growth and tourist stuff - mildly depressed about it because it was one of my favorite places. We go up multiple times per year (usually stay a week in the fall also) since it's close - usually for a day trip to the lake - but you can't do that anymore...there is literally no where to park that's easy access to take the dogs swimming in the summer. They also changed the trout regs (dumb since they're stocked) which makes it not worthwhile for me to run up for an early AM fishing trip anymore.
You guys missed it in it's true heyday. Now it's a tourist trap that appeals more to true city folk demographic.
We'll be up there on Friday to meet some friends from Houston for lunch and a few beers at the brewery.
The only Cabins I could find for rent on the Mountain Fork River were below the lake about 4 miles south of of HWY 70 on Red Fox Rd. and River Lane which is about 10 miles S.E of Broken Bow city or 16 miles to Beavers Bend state park entrance on Hwy 259. https://www.mtforkmanagement.com/maphttps://www.mtforkmanagement.com/properties

You can pretty much find VRBO/AirBnB and management group cabins on the mtn fork all the way to the Arkansas border. You can also find cabins on Big Eagle Creek - which joins up with the mtn fork a few miles above the lake.
