Dad collected old ones. I have a good condition single '36 (TX centennial), several from the '20s, and one black, wooden board with large numbers individually nailed into it.

A Texas 1936 plate is valuable, in any ledge able condition.

Give me a couple of days to dig them out and see what I have then we can visit

I think they where black with orange letters/numbers

Those 1934 plates were orange with black letters, I’ve also seen 1934 Texas plates Black with orange letters….

Texas used to swap back and forth between colors each year when you had to by new plates annually. In the '70's some are white with red letters and some with green. There was a time when the switched back and forth from white on black to black on white. When I was a kid, the regular plates had black letters but the personalized plates had blue. I have a 1974 (birth year) with red on white and the old tag off my Chevelle the last time it was registered...it's a Sesquicentennial plate with no renewal stickers (front). I also have an unused windshield renewal sticker from 2004 somewhere. Registered the car and never applied the sticker or drove it again.
