I’ve seen one badger in my life and all I has was a lighter and pocket full of M80’s. I was throwing M80’s down holes in the Glass Mountains of Oklahoma one winter when I was kid. Out came a very confused and pissed off badger

A ranch I managed in La Salle county had a lot of badgers....so many that I snared about 25-30 per year on the fence lines. I used to let them go but I kept catching them every year. They stink and are covered in flies. Catch on in a snare and they will have a mound of dirt in the middle from as far as they can reach. Ranch I am on now in the Hill Country we have caught one this year. Average about one every other year is what they historically catch in the traps.

I’m guess drought is causing them to travel We have caught at least 1 porcupine every week since late Feb. Some weeks we have caught 5 of them...with a lot of those being younger ones. Recently while sitting in the deer blinds, I have seen two really big ones that were traveling.

I see about 1 a year.
