For those not familiar with the Dyatlov Pass incident here is a quick link:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyatlov_Pass_incident

What do you think happened? Russia re-opened the case file and officially ruled it was an avalanche that caused them to leave their tent, which I’m not buying. I saw the tent photos and it wasn’t covered with much snow.

What do y’all think?

It was an avalanche.

I'll see if I can find the video which described what happened

I think it was something ( not a Yeti or abominable snowman ) that scared them so bad they cut their way out of a tent and ran off into the night. Too many things don’t add up of it being an avalanche. Rescuers found the bodies by following the footprints in the snow…if there had been an avalanche there would have been no footprints and to get back to where you came from, simply follow back your footprints. They found at least several people had climbed trees, no reason to climb a tree unless you were being chased. The “ looking for a vantage point “ theory doesent hold water due to the above mentioned scenario. The tent was not submerged in snow, it had some snow on it but not avalanche type snow.

The wounds on the victims were very strange and highly doubtful they could be caused by an avalanche enveloping a person.

I’ve been studying the story here recently and it’s a very odd and very strange story.

I don’t think so. A slab avalanche wouldn’t cause experienced outdoorsmen to hide in a creek after covering only a few hundred yards. Not saying it wouldn’t be frightening, but I can see that being the case.

It’s truly one of the great mysteries of the world.

I did…still not buying it.

Some of the victims were attempting to start a fire and raided other corpses of clothing. A slab avalanche is an over and done with event. Not a cause to hide out in the creek

Now this is an interesting topic. And, of course, SA is here to ruin any fascinating possibilities with the most boring outcome being the only option. Dude can ruin anything.

I’ll go with a yeti, just to offset his boringness, and because I want it to be a yeti.

Government weapon exercise is my guess or a tribal group. I’ve watched it before and is very intriguing.

Lol, yeah I've been into this stuff forever.....but most stuff has a reasonable explanation.

Reasonable is very subjective.

I would normally agree that in most cases there is a logical explanation to things, but the avalanche theory doesn’t hold water in this instance imo, these were tough, experienced hikers. They wouldn’t as a group scare easy and the fact they cut their way out of the tent and scatter like a covey of quail is extremely odd unless something scared the hell out of them. Then there is the fact that some of them were climbing trees. A person does not climb a tree in the middle of the night unless it’s to get away from something. The fact that the uninjured party didn’t immediately return to the tent site by backtracking their own footprints is very odd.

Honestly a crazy gay party gone wrong is a more plausible explanation than a slab avalanche.
