First how does Peterson brass compare to Hornady brass? It’s for 6.5CM. Does one have more or less capacity than the other? What about durability?

And last when you are s we irking up a load how many rounds do you use? What I is your process? For years I’d load 24-27 rounds but with the expense now being high I’m wondering if there is another way that doesn’t require as much.

Third question: How many makers of brass are there these days?

Peterson brass is very good brass. Much better than Hornady. I've not specifically measured the case capacity between the two, but I would think Peterson would be slightly less. Hornady brass is decent, but the primer pockets wear out fairly quickly.

I prefer use 5-6 groups with either 3-5 rounds per group. I can generally tell what the load is going to do in 3 shots when testing in 5 groups. But having a 4th or 5th shot does help. I work backwards from max. For example, if you have a 6.5 CM with a 140 grain, your max powder charge might be 41 grains or so. I'd load my ammo up in .3 or .4 increments like , 39.7, 40.1, 40.4, 40.7, 41.0. Start with the lowest and work your way up.

I do a ladder test. Typically .3 grain increments in something like a 223 and .5 grain in bigger stuff like 308&30-06.

Find the node, load a few at the node, go check group size, and zero the rifle.
