Does anyone know if you can use the digital tags for youth hunters? Everything I've read says its for super combo and few other options only? I've downloaded the app and it gives an option to complete a harvest but not sure if it will actually work? I purchased my daughters license online thinking it will work now I'm getting second thoughts that it will not be right and I will not have any tags for this weekend. Can I get a license printed off at store that sells license?

I thought I did my daughters digital. Paper showed up in the mail.

That's what happened to me for my license too, it showed up in the mail. I actually forgot to get my daughters license so I just ordered online a few minutes ago. Do you know if I can just log her kills digitally this weekend since I won't have an actual paper tag? Like I said it looks like I can in the app but I'm not for sure. I'm just concerned with it not being one of few license they listed on the website as a digital license. I didn't purchase a super combo for myself and once again on the app it looks like I log my kills digitally as well.

My understanding from reading this on TPWD website would lead me to think your answer is no.


If you provide your email address to the license agent when purchasing your license/permit, a copy of your purchase receipt will be emailed to the email address provided. You can also view your recreational license information in the Outdoor Annual mobile app. An electronic copy of your recreational license receipt can be used for activities that do not require tagging or physical stamps.

I think I figured it out when going to log a harvest that's exactly what it is. Just a log. It specifies that it is not for tagging purposes. So hopefully I can swing by Walmart and they can print me one off!! I really hope I didn't screw this up for her this weekend!

I was able to cancel the online order. So tomorrow I should be able to go get her a normal license and quit messing with this digital mess!

Being curious, I checked with a TPWD officer and was told only Lifetime, Super Combo, and Senior Super Combo license holders are eligible for digital licenses. Kids hunting with a Youth License will need a paper version and tags.
