I needed a new project to work on when it is too hot outside. Just about all I need to do on the truck has been done. So I got this 1967 Mustang. Was started by a couple of different folks but never finished, New chrome bumpers. New 5 speed Tremec transmission. New radiator and electric fan. New back leaf springs and shackles. New front suspension and springs. New shocks. New wheels and tires. New Edelbrock intake manifold and new Holley 650 CFM double pumper carburetor. New front grill. New trunk lid. A lot of new chrome trim pieces. No major rust just some surface rust.
And the Wife didn't get mad about me buying it. Amazing

This one is going to be more fun to watch than the truck...and that one didn't disappoint. Congrats on the new project, Don.

That is awesome. I learned to drive a standard in a 66 Mustang.

Awesome, can't wait to see what you do with this one. My first car was a '66 Mustang. I hit a wild pig coming home from work one night and pretty much totaled it. Ever since I've grown up and got my own money I've wanted to do another one. I kinda got screwed out of a '65 fast back, still can't believe it happened. Anyway, I've always wanted to do a classic mustang with my son and give it to him when we're done for his 16th BDay.

I doubt that very seriously. If you are right, there will be no THF or anything else but the nuclear winter.

Nice. I'm in the same position. I finished the 1962 MGA, then the 1970 Land Cruiser. I'm thinking I need another sports car or hot rod!!

Oh my heart!

I've been wanting one of these to fix up for about 30 years, and never have done so.

Really looking forward to this project! Keep us posted.

I am hugely impressed that you have the skills to restore the car.

I always wanted a Mustang, but was too poor.

My first car was a 67 Mustang. Is that a 5.0 roller motor? Just curious since it’s a T5. That would have been a 289 originally. The 302 started in 68. I’ll be checking back here often. Looking forward to it.

Your wife wasn't upset when you brought home the mustang because they're chick cars. She probably thinks you're going to restore it for her. Just a thought....

Just saw the above post and was about to ask if it was a '67, then scrolled to the top. So proud of myself. I got Dad's '68 (289) that he traded for but sold it when I fell in love with the love of my life. I've finally realized that I don't have it in me to restore/keep up old cars, after many frustrating experiences. Dad had a '15 Dodge, a '26 Chevy, a '28 Chrysler (with a rumble seat, but he never got around to restoring it), a pristine '67 Bronco, and the '68 Mustang. I've always thought the '67 Fastback Mustang was one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I admire you greatly sir. up

That’s gonna be awesome! I’ve got a 66 in my driveway with the inline 6 I’ve gotta get the fuel system cleaned up and painted. I’ve got my eye on a 68 on base, haven’t seen it move in weeks. Looking forward to the progress.

Installed new Export Brace. Put the New Holley 650 double pumper on. New power brake booster and master cylinder. Still got to mount proportioning valve and redo brake line plumbing. This is the red I am going to paint it someday.

Coming along and looking good. That 650 DP on that small 302 may be tricky to tune. I’d lean more towards something in the 500-580 range.
