What service do you guys use? After looking for a while for a shotgun, I finally found a Beretta A400 that was a fair price on GB. Got it, paid the guy, he sent it via USPS, and it's apparently just been lost - been over a week since it was last scanned in their system. Over a week since it was supposed to be delivered. Seller has been very responsive and is going to send out a refund check this week if there aren't any udpates

I have had pretty good luck with UPS. Not much of a fan of Fedex or USPS at all. Curious what the rest of THF uses when you need to ship.

Only place that will ship a firearm in my town is FedEx and the last time I shipped a shotgun their machines ripped half the box off it and they returned it to my address. I came home for lunch and the shotgun I just shipped the day before was sitting on my porch that any porch pirate could have gotten. I was pissed and gave them an earful. They refunded my money and shipped the shotgun for free. But everything I buy on GB comes UPS and has been flawless.

It’s good that he is issuing a refund can guarantee he bought insurance and is getting his money back as well.

If the tracking shows delivered I’d imagine it’s probably sitting at your FFL somewhere though. Normally if a package gets lost it doesn’t get scanned as delivered. It just stops tracking along the way.

It's not showing delivered. It was last scanned in Iowa on August 6 and then on Aug 10 this update was provided:

August 10, 2022
In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.

Nothing since then.

He did not buy insurance. I asked him originally if he bought insurance and he said USPS insurance doesn't pay on guns and he's been shipping a long time and never had a problem and he'd provide a refund if anything went wrong...so now he's ponying up.

Ahh sorry misread that delivered part.

Dang that sucks for sure. At least he is giving the money back. I’d give it right back to him if he has another one of the guns you bought. Maybe the shipping will go better this time.

It was a unique-ish version of the A400. I will check to see if he has another but I doubt it. It was used and in mint condition and significantly cheaper than new ($1050 and they're normally $1500-ish new).

UPS and FedEx don’t ship any firearms person to person anymore.

Shipping a firearm these days is hit or miss with any carrier. Good Luck in trying to recover losses with any of them even when insurance is paid for. They will somehow find a way to wiggle out of their obligation.

It will probably still get delivered. I had a rifle I shipped USPS that didn’t show up in their tracking for 2 weeks. Then it showed up on tracking and was delivered with no problems.

They are ALL woke companies and one day won’t ship any firearms. That’s my cynical opinion. I think FedEx has already stopped shipping handguns and the cost with UPS is outrageous. It cost me $80 to ship a handgun from Tyler to Houston ! Backdoor gun control !

Unfortunately, this is another way "they" are winning their gun control agenda. They will soon make it so we will not buy or sell through the "mail" anymore, too risky.

It's bad because you have to lie about what you're shipping.

FTF is the future

Suks, good luck with your misfortune.

Haven't shipped any machined steel tubes in a while. My issue is usually with UPS Mail Innovations which Midway uses a lot now days. Carrollton is where the packages usually go on vacation for a few weeks. Last month i ordered some magazines from them, at one time they were within 2999.54ft of my house in Bedford as measured on google maps. In total they traveled around 4442 miles before i recieved them. Image below is for the magazines. Ordered a ARCA rail mount bipod from them middle of last week and recieved it today, quick enough.

Didn't show up in their tracking or it showed up "delayed, in transit"?

Mine is still showing in transit, delayed. Hasn't been scanned in the system since Aug 6.

July 5th, I put a check in the mail going to THF member that lives in Ft Worth. 2 Weeks later he had not gotten the check, next day I put another check in the mail but took it to a different PO in a different city. THF member got that check in 4 days. Last week, August 20th, my first check was in my mailbox with a sticker on it as being undeliverable due to an incorrect address. USPS

Well...an hour after I ordered another shotgun from Chad, my A400 showed up at the local FFL after 3 weeks lost. Looks like I now have 2 shotguns. If anyone needs an A300 Ultima, give me a holler.

USPS website still shows it lost in the queue somewhere even though it got delivered.

I use the post office and don't have a problem. The trick to getting good service out of the post office is purchasing enough services to hold them accountable. Either use Priority Mail that is insured to hell and back or use registered mail. Nothing sent registered mail will ever get lost but it is pricey and the packaging requirements are unusual. I only use that method for very expensive things.
