Wife started colposcopy prep this evening for procedure tomorrow. She’s running back and forth in front of the tv. I have sympathy, but having been through it myself, it’s a little comical.

My last prep, it was 27 minutes from drinking the ‘dog sweat’ liquid till there was action. My wife took about 90 minutes. Don’t know why I clocked it, but had nothing else to do at the time.

Much easier if you prep before the prep. Start the cleanout early and smooth sailing from there.
Wish her and you the best.

21 deuces from start to end.

Gotta have some fancy wipes and mix in some showers.

The prep was in 2 stages. One quart of elixir at 5pm, next quart was at 5 am. Procedure was 10am this morning. I was told the 5 am dose was rough, I wasn’t awake for that.
It was actually an upper and lower procedure, it turned out ok. We swung by Whataburger on the way home. Wife’s taking another nap now. Glad that’s all over with.

I actually got a nurse to smile when checking in she asked me how I was feeling? I replied 'okay, except for my colon, which is hiding in the corner whimpering after the beating it's been through.

It's not fun but it's happy hearing the doctor say you're all clean or they only had to remove a couple of pre-cancerous polyps.

To be determined

Youngest daughter is having hers today. Much complaining has been done. Only pretend sympathy from mom and dad. She had trouble downing that last bit of the dog sweat flavored liquid.

Yep, I got the 5 year plan on my first trip, which is good. Funny, the cleaning fluid started okay...it didn't taste good, but for the first few swallows I was fine. But each gulp got worse and worse. Took me about 20 minutes to be good and clean. The 5 am dose was much harder to take...maybe cuz I knew it was coming.

Wife had problems with the 5 am dose. Said most of it came back up. Glad I missed all that commotion.

Yep, Dalroo, the more of that dog sweat you drink, the more your body doesn’t want more. First couple of gulps, and I thought “this isn’t so bad”. Wrong wrong wrong.

When I told my wife the doctor wanted to send me for a colonoscopy, she asked why.

I told her he didn't state a reason. She called the doctor and asked why.

He said, "because I don't like him".

the prep i had tasted like a half gallon of pledge furniture cleaner...even smelling sprite/7up to this day makes me gag and that was probably 8 years ago. That was the absolute worst...the 2nd time i had it done it was something different but still not very pleasant, but i will always remember my 1st!haha

So much better than colon cancer and so easy to prevent. Congrats to all who deal with this.

I’ve had 5 starting at age 46. The prep now is a lot easier than it was 20 years ago. I’m on the 5 year plan since my mom died of Colon cancer at age 67. She was never screened and it had already spread to her liver before she was diagnosed. Believe me getting a colonoscopy beats getting cancer. The good thing is if you catch it early it’s one of the easiest cancers to cure.
Thankfully In 5 screenings I haven’t even had to have a polyp removed.
Stay healthy y’all.

I had a colonoscopy in 1980. There was no nasty drink or pills, but there were successive enemas, given by a really cute little blonde nurse. I remember what she told me. She said “Hold it, hold it. You can do it”, as I waddled with a puckered butt toward the toilet. I made it every time, but it was close.

It’s funny now, but wasn’t funny then.

Top tip.... on your liquid diet the 24 hours before prep, don't spice up the beef broth with a healthy dose of Tabasco. Trust me on this one.
