I have one, its nice to be able to carry if you want. I usually don't carry it on me, but it is always in my truck. I have carried it a couple of times, and I have pulled it once. You better mind your Ps & Qs. They have several places that you can't carry, but I think it is worth having.

ABSOLUTELY it's worth having. The law in Texas allows Concealed Carry as long as you fulfill their requirements, which are relatively minimal, IMO, and I believe everyone that's able to do so should. Streets would be much safer if every eligible citizen carried, and that means you . Take the class and good luck!! Regards, Scott

I used to have mine and let it expire but at the class the instuctor said that when you pull it you better be ready to use it. He also said that a good lawyer could argue that if you pulled it and didn't use it immediately but ended up using it that you had an opportunity to get yourself out of the situation. With the way the law seems to work now, I wouldn't want to put my life in the hands of a lawyer and jury.

Always better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
I've pulled mine on three occasions, haven't shot any of them but it stopped all three aggressors. I will always take not having to shoot someone as a way out of a tight spot.
God help you if you push it farther.

I take my class here in Missouri this Saturday. My oldest son will be there with me. I have been doing alot more traveling lately, so my wife encouraged me to take the class. I know the rules are differant in each state about where you can & can not carry.

I must have missed your point. Does this mean that you would rather put your life in the hands of a criminal?

I was trying to say that the instructor in the class I took told us that if you pull your weapon, use it because it needs to be a bad enough situation that you fear for your life. The weapon should be a complete surprise to whomever it is being pulled on. That being said, I also think that most people would tend to settle down quickly when looking down a barrel and that would diffuse a situation. With the way the world works now, you will always have to answer questions as to why you felt it was necessary to use your weapon. I have never been in a situation like this and hope I never am. I am glad concealed carry is allowed as there are criminals out there who have no remorse for the acts they commit.

I have a CWP. Just another type of insurance for me and my family in my eyes. I'm not paranoid nor do I live in a high crime area. I do come into contact with people that I do not know and that is why I carry. Better to have it and not need it...

I was prepared to use it, but he decided it wasnt worth it. I mow yards part time, and I mow in some shady parts of town. I always carry when I am mowing that part. I was mowing, and as I rounded the house, there was a guy going through the bed of my truck. He already had my weedeater on the ground. So I got off my mower, pulled my gun, and asked him whf he was doing. He grabed for the weedeater, and I raised my gun, and told him he prob. should not do that. He stood up, and then took of. So yes I did pull my gun, to protect my property. I did not shoot, because he complied with my orders.

I have one, it's called my 2nd amendment! I agree the constitution allows a person of good standing to carry a gun for his one protection. HOWEVER good luck makeing that stick when you are arrested for carrying without a permit! .....................BOOK HIM DANO! My CHL was issued three months before they were legal for carry, and I let it expire one time, and had to go about 100 days that I couldn't carry, till the renewal arrived! Almost killed me. The Texas class for the CHL is on the penal code, and it would pay you to keep abreast of the changes to come along every once in a while, and abide by the rulls to the letter. If you ever have to use the handgun by fireing it to stop agression, you better have a good defence lawyer's card in your pocket, because even if you are right, unless you are no-billed at once, it is going to cost you $20K minimum before it is over. Something to think about, friends. The best thing for you is that you never have to use it at all, but it is better to have it, and not need it, than to need it and not have it! However you never know how a jury will see thing in a court of law, and the best place to be there is in the jury, not on the stand as defendant!

I have one and carry in my purse every day. The DIVA shooting club has a great slogan...'We don't call 911'. I often wonder what folks who don't carry think they're gonna do if they need to defend themselves.

Yeah I know, I do carry mine EVERYWHERE in my truck just not on me, I was kinda being a smarta$$ in my first post, but it does piss me off that I have to get a permit for a right that we already have, but so be it

I got mine a few years back, it has paid for itself three times over in getting out of traffic tickets alone.

I talked to a police officer who said that usually if someone has a chl, he just lets them go, because in traffic stops he is looking for criminals, drugs and illegal weapons, so he knows that you have been through a thorough background check and are ok.

I have one and have carried daily since I received it. For the past 13 it is part of my daily routine. When I walk out the door and grab my wallet and keys, it goes on my side as well. I would feel awkward without it.

Not true macd37. A man I personally know popped a guy who tried to car jack him and he wasn't arrested, wasn't run to the jail and was no billed without even a hitch. Not all cases are that easy but you shouldn't think it's gonna cost you if you are in the right.
