I am thinking about converting my pool pump to run on Solar. Anyone know of the best place to buy panels and the inverter? Will need enough panels to get me close to 2600watts. Will likely build a DC plant as well as I have a guy that can get me the batteries for that for next to nothing.

Solar powered pool pump would be fantastic.

Mine can be wired in either configuration but it was installed running 240v. I could just buy a solar pump but the pool is brand new and really don't want to buy a new pump if I can get this done using panels and an inverter.

May I ask why you are considering this?

When I got my pool I talked to the pool people About doing this also. I also wanted to heat the pool with solar. The space to set up all the solar panels was crazy. Would have completely destroyed the views. I use electric for my pump and it uses minimal amount of electric.
What are the benefits? My pool is pretty big at 40k gallons and I run the pump probably 10 + - hours a day during usage times.

there's a co in downtown Dallas selling used 290 watt panels for $75 ea. - https://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/grq/d/dallas-290-watt-trina-tsm-pa14-solar/7500413302.html
I haven't gotten any (yet), so can't comment on how good they are?

Prolly cheapest to order an inverter online - you can get one that outputs 240v (save $ on wire cost by staying 220v).

It is costing me about $125/mon to run it. Power Company keeps raising rates and I have no other choices. The spa is heated via LP, so I don't have to account for that.We run it about 10 hours a day s well. I have plenty of room for the panels and what not. The pool equipment is right next to a 35x40 carport that gets pretty much full sun all day, so I think I would get my money back in this in a year or two. Maybe I am wrong but it seems to make sense.

Do y'all have chlorine or salt water pools?

Mine is salt water and I don't run it but about 7 hours per day. In the winter time it's maybe 2-3 hours per day, and it doesn't cost me anywhere near $125/month.

Chlorine. Was on the fence on which way to go and honestly cant recall why I landed on chlorine. LOL

Once the weather cools down, I wont have to run it as much as the general rule is to run it for one hour per 10 degrees

Technically, a salt water pool is what Willie swam in and does not exist for people pools. Salt systems are used in pools for people. People pools are going to require chlorine added. Now several will come on here shortly with a different “opinion,” but unless you have a very small pool the electronic chlorine generator cannot keep up as it creates chlorine very slowly.

As per the professionals, I use about 50 pounds of chlorine pucks a year and average a bag of shock a week. The water is perfect year round. I just did my 45 minutes of swimming and man the water is a nice break from this heat. Concrete is brutal getting to pool though. In my opinion the best benefit of a salt system is the water smell. No chlorine smell.
