Picked up our end of season 2022 management bucks back yesterday. Look how small the skull is on mine (left) compared to my son's. Both shot from the same stand. Mine was aged by the ranch manager at 7 1/2 and my sons at 3 or 4. I thought my son's was at least 5 if not older. Both were great mgmt bucks. Compared to other bucks on the ranch, we do not think they would ever become a "Trophy" deer. One of the best trips yet.

Look like trophies to me. The hunt, memories and bonds formed are what make "trophies" not inches. Great looking euros and congrats to both of you.

Was there any expert opinion on the difference in skull size?

I tend to think all the extra nunk around the bases is a sign of age. I wasnt there to see anything other than your euros, but looking at those two i would say without much hesitation the son’s buck is older.

Very nice. Yeah, I have an 8 and a 10 from my place and the 8 is a much bigger skull and he was a big deer although they were probably both the same age at 4 or 5. The difference is very noticeable.
