Probably going on a round about trip that goes through Louisianan August, wanting to book a trip to fish in New Orleans. If anyone has a guide to recommend and/or what type of trip, bay/offshore/etc.

Thanks

Are you thinking about going out of Venice, LA? They are famous for their tuna fishing. Also red fish in the delta marsh.

I love fishing the marsh, shallow water sight fishing is a blast. Bring ample bug spray

We fished out of Pelican’s Roost in Delacroix, about 45 min outside of NOLA

Lots of marsh country,,red fishing was easy. Not a lot of trout in that type water but we caught reds, flounder, black bass and even a shark.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Fished with a few offshore guides out of Venice. Two best so far have been Paradise and Voodoo. The 42’ yellowfin Voodoo has, is a beast. Fuel ain’t cheap though. Never done an inshore trip down there.

If you go to Venice and want to stay in the marsh. I’m not a big fan of the big water but love the bay stuff. I’m going for my second trip with this outfit this summer. Every one of his guides were good. His lodge was clean and dehumidifier running.

Swing through Houma, it's not very far out of the way. We have better marsh fishing than Venice, although I may be partial. If you need a couple of recommendations, just let me know.

Super Strike Charters in Venice. Captain Damon McKnight, a friend from back home. We fished together as kids. I never fished with him in Venice, but if I ever get the chance i will.

Growing up in the 80's my dad and fished fished Delacroix all the time. Black Bay, Lake Fortuna, Snake island, that first rig at the mouth of Bayou Bievenue at Black Bay.

If you want inshore/marsh fishing , within 1 hour of downtown New Orleans , Shell beach or Delacroix areas are good.

Captain Markam Dickson is a great guy and works very hard to put you on the fish. When you cross the bridge in Shell Beach , there is a commercial
seafood place right on the Canal. We bought some of the biggest soft shell crab I have every seen . I suspect they have shrimp and oysters if you want to
pick some up.
