Shooting a .22 semi-auto rifle with a suppressor in my back yard.

It needs to be SUPER quiet as I dont want my neighbors to notice.

I need to kill these rabbits eating my yard up.

What ammo?? I dont think subsonic .22LR will cycle the action in the semi auto. I dont mind single loading.

How an\bout .22 shorts or CB shorts.

Thoughts other than I'm crazy?

I use CB longs. Without a suppressor. But I have 10 acres. Pretty quiet but still would be noticeable by neighbors. I imagine they would be super quiet suppressed. I’m not a suppressor guy but in the videos I see it seems .22s of all stripes are very quiet.

I’m just saying I’ve shot a suppressed 9mm in someone’s yard and no one ever said a word. I’ve shot shorts in a revolver and it was about like an old cap gun.

I have some sub sonic that I hear is really quite in the neighborhood taking out squirrels without a suppressor bolt If you need a box let me know, I don’t have a ton but I could spare a box of 50,

I bought some CCI super quiet subsonic ammo. I could watch the bullet flight with the scope. And if you’re gonna use it, pick a 22 and sight it in specifically for the ammo. The bullet path won’t be anything like regular 22LR ammo.

I’d try 22 Shorts.

Sounds great, OT, if you could spare some, that would be great. I could at least see how they work in my rifle.

I have checked all the "notification" boxes so I cane get some as soon as it becomes available

Buzz, if I was anywhere close to you, I’d bring you several boxes of CCI Quiet. I somehow wound up with about half a dozen boxes. I’ll probably never shoot them.

A man of your means, ought to have the right tool for the job. Time to invest in a good PCP air rifle. Very quiet and will lay the full smack down on a rabbit but pellets don’t have nearly the dangerous range of a .22 rifle. You can probably buy the rifle, a compressor, and a bottle for a whole lot less than a threaded .22 and suppressor. Or you could pay a whole lot more on the high end of that is your preference. Best of all you don’t have to get a tax stamp and wait for the ATF.

I would not risk it with a .22LR in Frisco with even the softest .22 loads.

I had one and sold it.

I had Mr. bunny in my crosshairs but couldn't pull the trigger. My puzzy got to me. now I'm done with them.. I hot them with my Daisy Red Rider, but they just jump in the air and run off. I did hit a juvenile in the neck with the Daisy, died over night.

Had a family come in one day looking for a recurve youth bow for the 9 year old. Set him up with a PSE 25lb bow and approporate arrows. Said he was going to kill those rabbits that had been eating his mom's flowers. Spent about 30 minutes with him and his Dad on the range and he was doing pretty good with it.

Next day they came back in so he could show me the rabbit he killed after they got home, his first day with the bow. He was so proud and telling me about his hunt. He left out the part his Dad told me how the Dad was glad the anti hunting neighbors had just left and he had to go over into their yard to finish off the squealing rabbit.

The next week he was back with another pic of a bunny he had head shot, and he did tell me then this one was a lot quieter. up

No idea how many bricks of the Colibri San poudre (no powder) I’ve shot. I have used them in my back yard in town to keep a flinch away. They’re not particularly accurate but that doesn’t bother me. I only have a few left and have them on back order at several places. I’ve even called Colibri but get no answer in customer support.

Anybody have any to get rid of, I need them. Will either buy or trade.

I have my own range with 3 stations at my place in Montague County. For some reason I don’t enjoy shooting there as much as I do in town.

CCI Subsonic won’t cycle my 10/22 but it’s stupidly quiet with the can. All you hear is the slap of the bullet, which is actually kinda loud but unless your neighbor is standing next to you they won’t notice a thing.

My friend has a Ruger air rifle that is much louder than a 22 rifle with subs.

Here is what you need (click link) ---> 60 Grain Aguilla Sniper Pest Control

Super heavy 22 bullet in a short case that equals LR length and with low power...these in my older 22" barrel mirco-groove Marlin 60 make easy work of squirrels so rabbits would be a snap so to speak.

This sounds like an ammo discussion, topic moved.

Pass the gravy.

This. Exactly what I use. And since I deal with rats, i have a night vision scope on my pcp rifle. My .25 Gauntlet with Predator PolyMags will drop any backyard pest I might encounter. 15 yards to the back fence.
