Looking at youth models from these manufacturers. Any experience? They all seem to be well made. Opinions appreciated.

Started my son on a Marlin single shot bolt action youth model. He loved it, it was a tack driver, and he's always regretted selling it when he "outgrew" it. I'm sure others will prefer other brands... it all depends upon individual experiences. I'm still a Marlin shooter, after almost 50 years. Not biased, of course! :-)

Savage all the way. Accutrigger and now the Accustock. No better rifle made for the money.

All three of those guns you've listed have good youth guns.

You might also look at the HOWA youth package. They are very good guns for around $350. The package includes a NIKKO STERLING scope. They have the same bolt action in them that you'll find on the Weatherby Vanguard!

Howa has a 2n1 package that comes with 2 Houge stocks, a youth model and when they outgrow it an adult stock.

I've been wanting to look at the Howa, but no one has it. And don't dare asking Academy if they can order one.

i have had a howa 1500 in 30.06 for 7 years and have absolutely loved it. it is a real straight shooter.

recently bought a marlin xl7 in 25.06 to have a lighter gun for WT and I have been very pleased with both the trigger and the accuracy. for $289, i am happy with it.

i helped my nephew find a savage 25.06 and it does a nice job. it is the first savage i have fired, so not much reference.

I own a mosseberg and love it, I have shot the Savage with accutrigger and the marlin. My fav out of the 3 was the savage (has the most features and options), but you cant go wrong with any of them
