I want to share my latest experience with Manners. Buyer beware.

7/6/19: ordered a "ready to ship" Tikka T4 lefty

End of July: called Manners to find out why I hadn't received a shipping notification or tracking number for my "ready to ship" stock. I was informed that there was a problem with the "ready to ship" stock and they were having to re-sand and paint it. No problem. Sh!+ happens. I get it.

8/26/19: I finally received my "ready to ship" stock. Immediately attempted to install barreled action into "ready to ship" stock. It wouldn't bolt up. The spacing between the action screws and the recoil lug was out of spec. That's pretty sh!++y, but not the end of the world. I'll just keep using my old stock and send this "ready to ship" stock back. Seems simple, right? Wrong.

End of August: contacted Manners about the fitment issue and was informed that I'd need to send back the "ready to ship" stock AND my barreled action so they could ensure the fit. The rifle is my dedicated suppressed deer rifle, so I told Manners I'd have to wait until after deer season to send them my barreled action. I hunted with my old stock all deer season and my son used it during late youth season while the "ready to ship" stock sat in the closet.

3/25/20: I sent back the "ready to ship" stock with my barreled action and my Redsnake bottom metal, which also did not fit.

4/9/20: Manners notified me that they received the "ready to ship" stock

6/4/20: I hadn't heard anything from Manners since they received my stock in March/April, so I emailed them and asked for an update or an approximate ETA. No response.

6/27/20: I emailed and asked for a refund and to send my action back

6/28/20: received a phonecall with an apology and was assured that they would ship my "ready to ship" stock back my "the end of next week", which would've been the first week of July.

August 2020: I've called and sent emails with no response. Someone finally answered the phone on Tuesday and said my "ready to ship" stock was in the production department and that he would personally go down there and see what was going on with it, and call me back ASAP. He verified my phone number and sounded like he was on top of it. That was four days ago and I've heard zero from anyone at Manners. I'll keep everyone updated on the "progress" from now until I get my "ready to ship" stock

Damn that sucks...

What really sucks, is that I'm not very hard to please. They have my money, my merchandise that I paid for with that money, and my rifle that they really have no business with. And all I ask for is the minimum amount of customer service. An occasional email or phone call, and I'm good to go.

Good God man your are patient. I hate to hear that about Manners. No COVID19 excuses here either, this started way before that. At this point if it was me the only redemption would be a full refund plus the stock for free. I recommend the “ready to ship” store of theirs to a lot of people. Guess I’ll rethink that.

I have a similar story about Howa/Legacy Sports Int. that I won't say anymore about until my son has it in his hands and it lives up to the MOA guaruntee.

That is pretty horrendous. I'v never dealt with Manners but I've had extremely long wait times with McMillan. Lately, I've gone Boyds. They have aluminum pillars in their stocks for a small up-charge and can crank out a stock in about a week.

I don't mind long wait times, as long as they tell me upfront and I can be prepared for it.

True. I never had an issue with McMillan's service. They were up front about the wait.

I have one McMillan stock. I wish i had more.

That’s the whole reason I only shop “ready to ship”. If I had to wait like that I would have already changed horses.

That's a long time.

I can be patient because I'm fortunate enough to have other rifles to choose from, and I can still hunt and shoot. This whole process would be a nightmare for someone who saved every dime they could spare to build a single quality rifle with quality parts. They'd be completely out of commission for over a year with no options. Manners has no idea what my financial situation is, so I could easily be that guy and they just don't give a f^*#. This is legitimately the worst experience and "customer service" I've ever seen from a company in the shooting industry. Even ATN had the balls to tell their customers straight-up that they didn't give a damn.

Ol Jerms already was warned my my about this.

Brand new $4500 custom rifle with a T4A direct from Manners. Didnt get to shoot it for a year because thats how long it took Manners to fix the split at the wrist. Literally BRAND NEW. So, imagine that. You have to wait another year until you can shoot the rifle you just sunk a bunch of money into. Just barreled action sitting in the corner collecting dust.

This is really surprising to hear about Manners. I bought a used one of their stocks that had some small cracks they fixed, I paid shipping and that was it, turn arounf time was about 6 weeks, they told me 6-8. And they get absolutely phenomenal reviews over on snipershide.

I told therm he was a degenerate. Granted the deal was for 6 months. That ain't right

My hat's off to you for your patience. I'll put up with a lot of crap from a company if I believe they are honestly trying to make it right, but I would have told them to suck rope a long time ago. Good luck, I hope this is resolved soon.

Man that sucks. Way more patient than I am. Ive always favored McMillan and wanted to try a Manners but seeing this makes me second guess.
