Anyone ever had a suppressor fly off the barrel when you shoot? I was shooting at a deer today and the gun was louder than it should have been and more recoil than usual with the suppressor on it. The suppressor flew about 25 yards from where I was at. Using omega 30cal with the quick connect.

Surprised you didn’t have an end cap or baffle strike

There was a slight copper streak on one side of the baffles so it did contact the baffles

You didn't have it tight enough. It was just off and why I do not like those mounts. I direct thread everything but that is just my personal opinion.

Alot of people like those QDs. You will have a POI shift with a baffle strike though. Who knows how big but unfortunately it will be there

Should I send it back to silencerco and do you think they would replace or fix if it was my fault?

Had my specwar take a ride down range twice. Silencerco fixed it both times. First time happened shooting with a bump stock after a couple hundred rounds. Second time happened on my 6.5 CM. The locking ring was bad on the first and was replaced. The second time is still unknown. Haven’t had an issue since but they fixed it for free each time and I had a pretty good baffle strike each time. Silencerco has good customer service and a quick fix turnaround time. FYI you can’t replace a suppressor, NFA rules don’t allow it. Unless you literally blew up it they can fix it.

I have a love-hate relationship with the ASR mount for my Omega. I love that I didn’t pay much for them, I hate that they can be such a PIA. I check, recheck, and recheck my recheck to make sure it’s seated correctly. I really don’t know how you could screw up the QD mount except for not actually getting it on the threads.

See YHM is a different system and I know someone who has never had an issue with a QD but theirs is different.

YHM QDs are awesome. I have them on all my rifle besides 1 and the suppressor zips on and off in seconds and has never came loose.

Those Omegas have a history of flying down range.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Those Omegas have a history of flying down range. That suppressor didn't do a damn thing wrong lol. It was just there when the moment happened.
