So... Wanting to run my 28 Nosler with a COAL of 3.675 on the 195 EOL's. No issue chambering, however as you guessed it the COAL is just a bit too long for the AICS 300 WM mags. A few questions... Will the AICS .338 CIP mag work on M5 Bottom Metal which I assume is the 306-86? If that is a resounding no... I was thinking about options. 1. Will a Wyatt's mag work in M5 Bottom Metal? My guess is no. 2. Will Wyatt's Bottom Metal fit perfectly where my M5 does? 3. Will M5 .338 CIP Bottom Metal fit perfectly where my current M5 does? Basically looking for the cheapest option here. I know I could load the 180's or increase the jump, but those are not what I want to do. I have a feeling I will not like the options.

So you've got some free-bore?
Why not work up a load, with mag length ammo? You afraid it won't shoot well? You afraid you're taking up powder room? Last 28 I loaded for is jumping that same bullet .001", it's making 3000 fps MV, and I still have room in the case for powder, but the combo won't tolerate any more powder, even though there is room to go.
In short, have yiu tried shooting it with your current set-up?

I just like to be close to those lands, especially as wear occurs. I am hoping there is cheap and easy option regarding hardware, worst case new bottom metal/mag with no stock mods. If I have to mod the stock, I might just run the default mag until it's time to replace the barrel and then go from there with a stock/barrel change.

If your 28 Nosler chamber is a SAAMI chamber, the 3.675" COAL would be jamming into the rifling. You can seat it a little shorter and still work fine and fit in the mag.
