Any of y’all plant/hunt over it for dove? Price per acre? Buying some land in OK on the Red River just north of Wichita Falls, so in a good area for birds. It’s a 30 acre field has been planted in wheat, but thought this may make a good fall plot for dove and later for deer. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the subject. Thanks

Deer don’t love Milo, they love legumes.

I’d do a sunflower/legume mix,

Plant half the field in milo or sunflowers, and then plant peas or wheat for fall on the other half.

split it up, not really anything good to plant that is great for both deer and dove. there are plants that deer will clip the plants of and doves will eat the seeds, but nothing that I know of that will be good for both at full maturity

Yea the other thought I had was to plant hybrid sunflowers soon. Then middle of Oct, disc and plant deer food plot. That’s probably the more logical thing to do. Even though I’ve heard of deer eating the heads of milo.
