Needing to build a cover for my cargo trailer while it is home and not at the lease. I have a 53 foot cargo trailer that has had the running gear removed and sits on blocks. I’m wanting to build a lean-to off it to park the smaller cargo trailer. It is 16x8 and prob 8-9 feet tall, much shorter than the storage trailer.

My question is, if it’s attached to the storage trailer is there a chance wind could flip it?

It could be if necessary but wasn’t planning on it.

hmmm, how were you planning on supporting the edge that is not attached to the storage trailer? just cantilevered from the top of the storage trailer?

You know the answer. This is North Texas. Everything that’s not tied to earth will blow away.

Found my neighbor’s fancy new carport in my tree the morning after he laughed and said the rebar spikes would hold it. He fished it out of my tree without saying a word. Saw a guy build his garage on a slab without tie down bolts in the slab. Told him to rent a nail gun and shoot it down to the slab. He didn’t. It blew away.

Don’t make me say I told ya so.

Is Forney "good" with this? Do you need permit.

I'd go to jail here in Frisco if I tried this bang

Shop is in BFE Kaufman County, don’t care what they think. When they stop mowing the right of way and busting my water lines and mowing over the mail box I’ll start caring about what they think.

???

i was thinking of attaching to the top/side of the storage trailer on blocks, then putting posts along the outside to build a frame to put in rafters

Pour a foot of concrete in the trailer then it won't flip. Lean too may blow away but trailer ain't going with it.

Well those dumbass county workers did it again. Brand new water meter and box is now smashed into the ground and water has been leaking for who knows how long. I even had a 6 foot tall white stick with blue lettering marking the location, still managed to run it over. Looks like I’ll be planting trees in that area to keep them out.

When you plant those trees will you have a big blaze orange sign out there: "Look tree's do not mow them!"............
