Used to see them in The Valley on my grandparents orchards in the 70s and 80s. They are still here in The Valley! Big groups flying all around. McAllen has plenty.

Sure, you can eat any bird. But I would stay away from buzzards, seagulls and cormorants. Blackbirds, starlings and meadowlarks are tasty.
If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you. "I keep trying to see Nancy Pelosi's and Chuck Schumer's point of view, but I can't seem to get my head that far up my [censored]." Senator John Kennedy, Louisiana

I see Monk Parakeets daily in Dallas....often hear them more than I see them. I've had them in my backyard several times. The other day I saw a pack fly right down McKinney avenue.

Lots of Parakeets around Austin I remember playing softball in 96 and they had nests in all the field lights. Awesome birds. You can certainly hear them as they are really noisy.

The noise they make.... they are so annoying in SA. Exterminate with extreme prejudice.

My grandparents lived on Enon in Everman until their passing. They had nesting parrots on the power lines in their front yard for prob close to 15 to 20 years. The city would tear down the nests and they would just rebuild! The transformers even set the nests on fire on several occasions!
