I had a RTV 900 that I put a heavy bed mat in the bed. Then after the warranty expired I cut off the original muffler and installed a small car muffler. Both helped some especially the muffler. I now have a RTV 1140 but have only put a bed mat in it so far. They are a bit noisy but are built like tanks.

I have had two of them - what year is yours? The newer one I have is quieter than the first one
I love mine - new suspensions are way better too

I'd love to upgrade from my 900 to an 1140 but hard to justify the cost. I don't have any suggestions on quietening one down. I just run mine a lot and the game seems to get used to it being around, similar to my diesel truck.

We just bought a new 1140. That thing rides and drives REALLY nice, but it is definitely louder than the Mule and Polaris Ranger we have. Drove it for the first time doing our spotlight count last weekend. Man, the deer run away from that thing. They will get used to it soon enough, but I switched vehicles for the remaining counts.
