I like hunting out of a tripod stand and was looking for recommendations on any you have tested and approved. Looking for sturdy, 10' - 12'tall, and one that has an option to buy a roof kit.

Summit has an excellent tripod for gun or crossbow hunting. Nice platform, swivel all weather seat and very stable. The rails my be too high if your hunting with a verticals bow. They offer an enclosure for it with a roof.

I have a couple left over leg kits for the summit strike pod 12-16’ I’d let go for $40 a piece. Still new in box, stored in my garage.

I think is the best way to hunting on the tree, because you can get the best security for you safety, and have the best vision to find more animal possible.

This time of year, I much prefer a tripod to a box blind when hunting pigs at night!
I have 3 old car rims/tires that I put on ground and bolt the tripod to the lug holes on the rim to keep it from blowing over. It takes an extra 15 minutes to move but doesn't blow over.

^^^^^This. I haven't hunted out of the tripods but plan to get a couple this year. I do have about 8 or 10 of the quad pods and they are AMAZING for the money!!

The very best I've ever used are made in Henderson. Real Bark is the brand, but they ain't cheap ! I have four of them and they are bomb-proof and have a unique chair thst swivels in the platform as well as at the seat.

I picked one up from Academy a few years back. It was 10ft and had a 40" platform and swivel chair. I There was a safety rail and shooting rest so I always felt comfortable while in it. One side note an extra pad for the seat helps when you are up there for an extended hunt.

PoppinPiggy... that is the one I have. I love the bigger platform and it is very stable. I paid $129 probably 3yrs ago. Well worth the money. Store your seat after season and it will last a long time.

Purchased 3 10', SBK or SKB tripods from Academy 10 years ago, $89 ea. and they are all still in use today. 10' to mesh platform and 13' to shooting railing. Light to move around yet very durable. Think that manufacturer has since gone out of business.
