My top goal is to get my first banded duck but I don't expect to get this done. I've never seen one in my area in person so the chances are slim but a guy can dream lol!! Besides that the goal is just to try and stay on the ducks and hit limits like last year North Texas has the opportunity for some cool mixed bags so its always fun to see whats gonna fly in.

I hope to come up with a few new excuses for the lack of birds. Too hot, too much ice, not enough wind, too much wind, moon phase, DU, not enough face paint, Obama, and countless others.. I’m sure I’ll think of something You must be buddies with beaversnipe

My first duck hunt and first ever duck I ever shot was a banded Red Head. I shot at a duck on the first volly and missed. Next volly I shot a duck, and the dog brought in a banded red head. My customer at the time was floored. He was excited and mad at the same time. He couldn't believe it.

I didn't dove hunt last year for the first time in about as long as I can remember. I already have a opening day hunt scheduled this year and am hoping to bring my 7 yr old son on his first dove hunt. We tried last year in October but no birds so he just shot his BB gun and had a blast doing that.

I got into dove shooting a few years ago. I call it shooting because you aren't really hunting for the game, they fly by and you shoot. I really like these dove shoots, lots of action, a challenging target, the doves are easy to clean and they taste great. BUT...I haven't gotten my 15 yet.

Good dove opening weekend with family, food, and of course adult beverages after the hunts. Good start to hunting season.

I just hope the dove show up this year in Young county. We always have a big party opening weekend in Fisher county and slaughter them. I’m just hoping for some good hunts close to home after that. I even got on Puddins lease with a bunch of my quail hunting buddies because the action was so slow at my house last year. Dove season is the only time I miss living in the Sandhills.

Shoot more sandhill cranes. Did,nt get one last season. Also, have some quality duck hunts. Been hunting a large club on the mid-coast prairie for a while and it,s been a struggle getting even 1/2 limits. Joined smaller, I hope better managed, leases this season and am expecting much better results.
Life,s better in waders

Hopefully end up with a banded bird of any kind.

Fiance is due for our first child on November 28th. Here's to hoping that babe stays in the oven as long as possible. I imagine it'll be an early and short season for me. Looking forward to all the memories that will follow though!

Hope my son gets his first duck this season. Agree. My son is 10 and I think he’s ready. He really wants to get out there and chase them. Duck hunting used to be a big part of my life, then the kids came and priorities changed. I’ve killed plenty in my lifetime... now it’s more about showing my son how awesome it is!

Goal for this season is to go more and learn more. I have always done more deer hunting because of time issues with work. I will be working 7 on 7 off when the season comes around. So going to put more effort into it and even try a little public hunting. Have a flat bottom now so going to get more supplies slowly and try to find people with experience to go with.

my number one goal this year is to see some of you rookies start hunting more public, anyone can walk away with a strap full of ducks on private.

No Garrett totally not true. Judd zeros on public pretty regularly.

I'm always looking forward to good numbers and a band, but this year I really want a stud wood duck to mount.

The 'easiest' hunts I have ever had were on public....just sayin.

PS: I like shooting redheads and springs at the coast

Also guided on public takes away too. But not if they carry your purse for you.
