Thanks Mike, this was a lot of fun and your guides did a great job and were fun to hunt with. A little background;
I work with a research scientist that studies fungi and bacteria. She mainly looks at gut bacteria in wild animals with a rumen. Last year I was able to collect samples from aoudad, axis, fallow, and whitetail. I had supplied her with enough samples for her and her phd students to finish out the project. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago one of her students inadvertently allowed the remaining sample to be contaminated. She called me in a panic and asked if there were any animals available to hunt, and could I hunt them before May.
She gave me a budget and I immediately called Mike. He did a great job of getting everything set up quickly. This would have been much more fun to have had a little more time but I'll be out of the country next week and she needed the samples ASAP. Every ranch we hunted was well managed and had tons of game. Although this was set up as non-trophy type hunt we saw some really nice trophy animals of several species. The mouflan cross ram was a beautiful animal and will make a very nice European mount. We saw many axis bucks that have me looking at my savings account!!! The ranch house Mike had us stay in was very nice and my wife (who I have dragged all over the world hunting and fishing) was pleased and surprised.
I have hunted with Mike before this hunt and I am booked to hunt with him this fall again. I know he doesn't necessarily need more recommendations, but if you are thinking about hunting West Texas Mike is absolutely the go to guy.

I had previously eaten all of the animals I got except for the blackbuck. Holy Smokes! That stuff is great! I just did the tender loins on the grill and a round roast in the oven, they were both amazing!!!

Hmmm, how do I get my boss to pay for me to go shoot wild game in a hurry???? Great work if you can find it! I would say you should get an "Exceeds Expectations" on your next performance evaluation.
