Holsters are like deciding which shoes or boots to wear for the day. What is the intended use for the new pistol? Concealed carry, duty, matches?

Thanks... Never tried this maker, but it may be my next holster purchase. Bitterroot Gunleather out of Montana. Does some beautiful leather work.

For open carry, especially if some chores are involved, a level 2 retention holster such as a simple thumb break style are good. If going with a level 1, make sure it is adequately tensioned to prevent the pistol from falling out when bending over or crawling over a fence. Bianchi makes decent entry level quality at reasonable prices. The JM’s above look nice, but have not used it so cannot vouch for it. The guys at On Your Six in San Antonio make a nice product. https://onyour6designs.com/Some folks love Stealth Gear. Raven is nice. Avoid Serpa holsters, sand can cause problems. I wear concealed all the time in a Crossbreed or Milt Sparks VM2, except for the range where Davis Gunleather is my favorite at the moment. There are almost limitless good options now. Check ebay for gently used. Plan on trying several, but a good quality stiff belt really helps.
