They got screwed over when Celebrus took them private.

What's the big deal? Colt has done this multiple times. It is just a reorganization thing.

From what I understand, things have not been going well at Remington for some time. At the Shot Show last month, there was not much optimism that things were going to turn around. They didn't have a new "wow" product that can create excitement. Hope I am wrong but it appears that this is what happens when multi billion dollar corporations buy up companies that they know nothing about. Adios, Gary

$800 million in debt, sales down 27%.
I just have to wonder who keeps loaning these people money?
yeah they are going bankrupt, but the Remington name and their Model 700 rifles, Model 870 and 1100 shotguns are iconic. Somebody will buy up the remains of the company for a cheap price and start them back up again.

Yeah, if they just didn't keep selling all those defective 700s and getting their arses handed to them in lawsuits and have to do all the retrofitting, I figure they would probably still be solvent, LOL. They will reorganize like Colt did. No big deal.

They recalled the 597 Magnum in 17HMR. New the rifles were selling for between $350-$500 depending on the configuration. As part of the recall they were giving either coupons for $350 towards another Remington, or a $200 check. That's piss poor customer service right there. I still have a new in box 597 Magnum in 17HMR in the safe that will never be shot. Guess it'll be a collectors item one day, since all the other receivers will either be cracked or sent back and re-barreled to 22mag. I vowed at that point to never purchase another new Remington or any of their acquired brands from that point on.
