This season has been markedly better than the last 2. Less water seems to have concentrated them better. I want the flood gates to open wide and see Noa come a floating in the ark! Dam a bunch low water.

This season has been markedly better than the last 2. Less water seems to have concentrated them better. My best seasons were around the drought in 2011. I am coastal though so we've always got water. Seemed in those years the birds were very concentrated and it wasn't hard to understand why. I know it is bad for almost everything and everyone but I'd prefer to hunt a dry year in my neck of the woods.

The birds, for us, have not been in the normal areas we like to hunt. I don't mean 'normal area' on a particular lake, I am saying like an entire region.

On the coast, it seems like in dry years the ducks get here a lot earlier in the season and stay longer. I know it sucks for the guys up North but sorry, not sorry. Lol.
Years like the last couple there is so much water on the public areas that I hunt that these birds are so spread out you can't pattern them at all. I wish I could scout on these public lands. It would make a huge difference. The only scouting you can really do is on the way out! Or watching the birds while you're hunting. Seeing where they want to be and hope that pattern holds til the next hunt (Usually doesn't).
Definitely not the best year but not the worst by a long shot. Blessed to be able to chase them as much as I do...

It was pretty bad until I bought an airboat. Now I am having the best season ever.

For me in north texas it has been about the same number wise but I usually shoot quite a few pintails and mallards but I have 0 pintails and 1 mallard so far this year. Widgeon and ringnecks have made up most of my limits this year.
If the trigger is gold, the birds will fold.

It has been a below average year on my lease. We are tied with our previous lowest season.

I have averaged 4 birds per hunt, so pretty good season for me.

Overall pretty good for me, but ended today with getting skunked. Lol. Shot more gadwalls this year than ever before, but even they didn’t show up today.

We ended really strong yesterday, but we never really saw the numbers we have been used to in past years.

Got on a lease for the first time this season which yielded only 4 birds over 6 hunts. Went public the next 6 hunts and bagged 10 birds including my first woodie drake. I also made a great hunting buddy who’ll ensure I’ll get to hunt as much, if not more, in the coming seasons! Great season for me overall.

I'm sitting right at avg. around 150 ducks. I break 300 on a good year easy. Poor year I struggle for 100. Is that a group total, or personal total?
