For you guys that were complaining after the 1st split about getting skunked more often than not and this being the worst season you can recall...Does it still hold true?

I wasn't one complaining then, but yes. I've seen less than half of the birds that I've seen in the past.

Compared to my last two seasons, this has been incredible.

I killed probably three times as many ducks this year (all public) than last year. Think I had one skunk this season. Might be able to get one or 2 more hunts in before its over.

I'm sitting right at avg. around 150 ducks. I break 300 on a good year easy. Poor year I struggle for 100.

I'm averaging like 1 duck per 5 hunts. I think I've killed 27 ducks since the Texas opener, usually I finish with 150 plus. Just tough around here this year.

Been above average but far from the best. Public has been average overall but slower than the last few years. The ponds at my deer lease have been phenomenal tho.

My wife and I welcomed a baby boy in November, so I've been extremely limited this season. One hunt a few weeks ago in north central Texas yielded a pretty quick 6 man limit (THANKS BLAKE E!). This past weekend I was part of 2 groups of 3 hunters for 2 mornings down in San Antonio Bay and only shot 4 redheads combined. OUCH!

Pretty steady for me. Had to find birds in different places this year for some reason. The old tried and true holes aren't producing as steady. But others have taken their place.

Probably one of the best seasons I've had in the past couple years! Especially on public land. I am shocked about the bad reports I have been hearing

Much less birds this year than last, but then again, I hunt at one particular location and they just aren't coming in there as good this year.

Been average for me. I'm sitting at 23 ducks over 9 hunts. For me this is pretty normal. Only one skunk mixed in but several 1 bird days. 2.5 ducks per hunt.

I haven't looked at the total for my group...

Ok. I calculated, 37 for the group.

3 hunts were solo and some of the others my buddies skunked. Overall, 4.1 ducks for the group per hunt. Have not hunted more than 3 guys at a time. I can't stand hunting with more than 4. My preference is solo or 2 guys.

Got 2 more hunts scheduled for the season. A solo and one with my brother.

I forgot to mention this is 100% public!

The first split was bad for me. 2nd split started bad but got good pretty fast. We shot a 3 man limit today...but yesterday only got a couple...go figure. I had walk in hunters ruin my hunt Thursday. Let one feller who walked 10 minutes before legal hunt with me. We shot 7 total while the barneys who set up 100 yards down wind from me shot and shot ...killing about what we did.

Its been that kind of season.

This season has been markedly better than the last 2. Less water seems to have concentrated them better.

My best seasons were around the drought in 2011. I am coastal though so we've always got water. Seemed in those years the birds were very concentrated and it wasn't hard to understand why. I know it is bad for almost everything and everyone but I'd prefer to hunt a dry year in my neck of the woods.

Same here for me in N TX....dry years are always our top years. The birds, for us, have not been in the normal areas we like to hunt. I don't mean 'normal area' on a particular lake, I am saying like an entire region.

On the coast, it seems like in dry years the ducks get here a lot earlier in the season and stay longer. I know it sucks for the guys up North but sorry, not sorry. Lol.

Years like the last couple there is so much water on the public areas that I hunt that these birds are so spread out you can't pattern them at all. I wish I could scout on these public lands. It would make a huge difference. The only scouting you can really do is on the way out! Or watching the birds while you're hunting. Seeing where they want to be and hope that pattern holds til the next hunt (Usually doesn't).

Definitely not the best year but not the worst by a long shot. Blessed to be able to chase them as much as I do...

For me in north texas it has been about the same number wise but I usually shoot quite a few pintails and mallards but I have 0 pintails and 1 mallard so far this year. Widgeon and ringnecks have made up most of my limits this year.

It has been a below average year on my lease. We are tied with our previous lowest season.

Overall pretty good for me, but ended today with getting skunked. Lol. Shot more gadwalls this year than ever before, but even they didn’t show up today.

We ended really strong yesterday, but we never really saw the numbers we have been used to in past years.

Got on a lease for the first time this season which yielded only 4 birds over 6 hunts. Went public the next 6 hunts and bagged 10 birds including my first woodie drake. I also made a great hunting buddy who’ll ensure I’ll get to hunt as much, if not more, in the coming seasons! Great season for me overall.

Is that a group total, or personal total?
