So how do private leases work? Are they leased by tank or field? Is it usually a year-round lease that you happen to hunt ducks from or are they clubs that lease or own several fields and tanks. Info is appreciated.

all depends on what the landowner decides he wants to do. no one definite answer.

Definitely not one size fits all. Agree with above, it depends on landowner. One word of advice is to lease from landowner direct if you can.

I dont understand how some of these duck leases are twice as expensive as a deer lease. Boggles my mind.

supply and demand sir... there is less productive duck water to be leased than there is deer land.. at least per gun

My private lease had several ponds $2K a year
