I am seeing some 48 hour sales online with the Sitka Duck Oven Jacket, I am wondering what y'alls opinions are on it? Normally I am not for spending all sorts of money on a jacket, but with the warranty involved and the sale I am strongly considering.

If you are looking at a sitka windproof waterfowl jacket I would lean towards the Sitka Dakota Hoody; it has GORE-TEX Windstopper, it is hooded, 3/4 zip, built in hand muffs, fleece backer...
Here is a MEDIUM for $186: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sitka-Gear-Hunting-Dakota-Gore-Windstopper-Hoody-Mens/382163678343?epid=1379255324&hash=item58fabaf487:m:mF7YETEOSwp6aTB9ubeqWEw
Here is a LARGE for $210: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Sitka-Dakota-Hoody-L-Timber/272931393870?hash=item3f8bfa914e:g:Vl4AAOSweZJaClAN

Also, I just bought the Sitka Hudson Jacket for $320 on Camofire.com a few days ago. They will probably still be running that deal every so often if you keep checking.

My only complaint about Dakota is no waist adjustment cord. But it’s perfect for little big runs, really blocks the wind.

The Hudson jacket is water & wind-proofed with GORE-TEX arguably the best stuff on the market, and is set up to duck hunt. You can get a lot of jackets that will keep you warm for less than $300. I just ordered the hoody, I never considered the fact of a hemmed drawstring..

I've used Drake for a long time and like their stuff, but it seems their quality has gotten a little worse. I've been slowly moving over to Sitka and have found it to be a better fit generally and prefer it. I especially recommend it if you ever hunt up north where the wind and cold are harsher.

I have 2 drake coats (one L and 1 XL for layering) and 2 bibs and i alternate. One sitka coat would still be more expensive than the entire majigglewig

I can afford whatever I want. For back pack solo elk hunts I'll spend the money and get some great gear thats light weight also. For duck hunts....I have a drake pullover, a soft wool jacket and good underwear on the skin. All the expensive stuff is not needed for a day duck hunt. The boat has spare clothes just in case. I wear cheap sweat pants under my waders for temps 37-38 or higher. Lower than that a nice underwear long pants. I'm cozy and warm on my duck hunts but shiver in my deer stand....go figure.

All the top-notch guides Wear it-From duckhunting in Nebraska to chasing elk in New Mexico. There is nothing better- try a pair of their waterfowl gloves too. Top notch as well very little bulk

Top notch as well very little bulk Mountain hardware makes better gloves. Gore Tex is terrible boot and glove solution, outdry is a much better solution. Just weight until your goretex gloves wet out. Borel jacket is better then the Hudson for warmth, but it’s $600 Sitka has some great peices but fall short on others, but they do have a hell of a guide program
