I am. In my newly built elevated stand, watching a 1/4 mile long sendero. Strategically placed so as to see deer chasing, and boy they are. Saw a doe come out of the brush on the neighbors side of the high fence, then a Monster came out sniffing around. Multiple smaller bucks are going crazy on both sides of the fence.IN THE POURING FRIGGIN RAIN! This is crazy. Last eve I put out some Tink s 69 by the stand. Had a BIG mature chocolate horned buck come out and go straight to it. He was probably only 12" wide and 20" tall though. The rut is on eastern Erath. Got the dog and little buddy heater. We are snug as a bug in a rug. Wish I'd see that big 10 that I shot at. I will not shoot at another deer until I know he's still alive. Anybody hunting?

Ive seen several post mention the chocolate horns. Excuse my ignorance, as hunting with Papa and my great uncles my whole life, they would shoot first horns they would see. Do the chocolate (dark) horns signify older bucks, or just very healthy? I ask, because i have a few on camera with very chocolate horns.
Thanks, Kevin
