Looking at Opening Rifle Day where I hunt, Athens, is gonna be 82 degrees and wind 2mph out of South.
It has never been like this that I can recall. Would this change your strategy at all? If so, how?
Got a big creek down middle of property, so water is very abundant throughout the property...
Im hoping for some sort of rut....

My strategy is to be out there. I plan on sitting all day sat if my son can handle it.
It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.

My strategy is to just wait until next week. Shouldn't have to sweat in a deer stand.

I hunt in Pert and my plan is to be in the stand. Never know! I had my only day time pick of a beautiful 10 and it was the hottest day a couple weeks ago.

First I am going to consult with bigbob_ftw on what kind of shorts to wear I have a battery operated fan that is going in the blind with a cooler filled with ice cold water & . Hunting real hard and long in the morning, will not get into the blind until later than usual

I killed a 20 point missin 2 points in the year of 2000 opening weekend. The beaver moon was full and it was blazin hot. I caught that sucker eating post oak acorns at 2pm in the middle of the day. I could hear that buck sifting through the dry leaves. It was dry and HOT. The work began after he went down. Ants and skeeters nawin on me out in the woods while draggin the buck out. All the while sweetin my azzz off. Sucked
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

It's amazing the change in deer patterns last weekend vs this weekend. Extremely slow yesterday. Some deer movement between 11-130.. then early afternoon.. 430ish.. then slow. Deer cleaned up last night and haven't seen much this morning. There was a buck behind every doe last weekend.. I'll just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet before WWIII breaks out tomorrow.

Looks like a typical day of bow season. Take plenty of water, shorts with a mesh leafy suit, thermacell and scent spray. Spray before you go, after you get into stand, and then again a little later on.

My cameras are showing deer moving through all hours of the day, no set pattern. I guess I'll sit in the blind and bake until something shows up. Maybe I'll get lucky and shoot one before it gets too hot.

Hunting tomorrow, but I'm not on Sunday with the higher winds. Thermacell is in my backpack.

Im hoping for some sort of rut.... The warm weather is one count against daytime activity, the full moon on opening weekend is another. I'm still optimistic because heat or no heat and regardless of moon phase, the bucks are in rut and moving. The big uptick in roadkill deer that we've all seen during the past couple of weeks is a sign that during the rut, hormones and photoperiod probably matter more than temperature and moon.
