Trying to figure out if it's worth trying. Any recommendations on which brands worked or didn't if you have tried them?

What's your goal? Camo or protect pretty wood?
I used the old "zip on" kind. They are goofy looking and change the fit of the gun but they are camo and protected wood finish. I really don't thing they are worth it UNLESS you are still hunting, stalking or walking. A shiny stock or barrel, even stainless steel will stand out AND reflect the sun for miles.
Used the tape that stuck to itself
now hunting from a blind, I use nothing

Goal is to save the extra $100 they charge for synthetic camo over a black synthetic shotgun. I've seen wraps for $30 or so. Just like the camo look better, would be useful for waterfowl/turkey and would save me a decent amount

Black is a natural color. Save your money and hunt.

Black is a natural color. Save your money and hunt. Only on skunks. Black is one of the worst colors for camo. Two days ago I ordered a new zip up, light weight Carhartt jacket. Choices were the typical tan, Navy, or black. While black would be great, as dirty as I get them working, it's terrible to hide from the coyotes I'm always watching out for. Went with the usual tan.

Again... I like the camo... that doesn't mean I have to have it, which is why I'm trying to figure out ways to save money and stay camouflaged at the same time..

Lol no. Just adding another factor in play during the old days and giving the old time hunters their due.
What are you hunting mostly?
Edit: I see now.

Just found this on Amazon. Claims it won’t hurt gun/removable.

I’m sure countless animal lives have been saved because of black guns.

Ironic a guy's handle is Sneaky, and doesn't want to operate in a sneaky way.

Ironic a guy's handle is Sneaky, and doesn't want to operate in a sneaky way. Potting an animal at 500+ yards using every technological rifle/optics advance known to man ain’t very “sneaky”. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

I have two with a "wrap." One is the bandage type as shown above, it is on a rifle used for coyotes. Second is a stainless Remington with a mirror polish on the metal. It has a sleeve made from a knit cloth similar to a T-shirt.

I personally don't care for it. I once leaned a camo'd out gun against a tree to take care of some business, then panicked when I couldn't find it. You might laugh now, but wait until you have walked a mile in my shoes.
Ultimately, it is really only about marketing to sell more hunting stuff. Whether a rifle is wood or black or camo, the real give-away is that highly reflective scope glass.

PM me. I have a pretty good process for a one color, topped with one black marbleizing spray. Creates a great webbing pattern.
