We were just offered a great duck hunting opportunity for our 4-H youth. As usual there is one hitch, one of the smaller city's in our county has a large duck / goose population at the local waste water treatment plant. They do not want to open up to the general public due to scheduling issues.

The question is this. Will the fact that the game birds are landing and swimming in treated waste water will the birds still be safe to eat?

Thanks
Robert

Thank You
Robert

In my opinion there is no such thing as a (fresh water pond). All aquatic anamals deposit waist, dead aquatic anamals..., but the question was posed to me so I thought I would ask you guys.

Thanks for the replies

After 2 days of the best mallard hunting I had ever seen in Scottsbluff, NE and eating more duck breasts than I could count cooked in more ways that I could count, our awesome host took us across the South Platte and showed us the retention ponds where the ducks spent the majority of their time.

I know that was a long runon sentence, but point is, all 15 of us are fine.

If you hunt after some of the weekend banquets, the ducks taste like prime rib and baked potatoes! Bwahahaha
