Looks like Glock has introduced some nice touches in the Gen 5. Who is going to bite? Noticed a few Gen 4s got posted recently so my guess is people are digging the new gen?

I noticed the same thing and figured it may be related to the gen 5 coming out. I'm sure I'll be happy with the NIB gen 4 I'll be picking up in a few though!

Mr Gunsngear Glock 17 gen 5 Ok....Here's a positive review on the Gen5. I noticed an inconsistent ejection pattern....Like most gen4s and late gen3s. Now if you like these gen 5s, go ahead and buy them...more power to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrHyZwo6ueQ&t=1232s

I'm thinking about selling my Gen 4 and jumping....BUT I'm also considering sending it off to Zev. I really like the silicon carbide grip treatment.

It shot reliably, ejected the brass, and didn't hit him in the face... what is the problem? The video I linked even addressed it, and he said it wasn't an issue like in previous Glocks. I really don't care one way or another... just thought it was odd that you would state that you aren't interested in one anymore after some dude just said it was ugly...

I already ordered a Gen 5 G19 and I should have it some time this week. I really like the combination of the Gen 4 grip size and the finger grooves being removed.

If you like shooting a generic, boring, "brick" by all means get one. Sorry, I put Glock right there with Tikka and Vortex Just 1 mans opinion which is worthless.

I'll put my Vortex scopes against any brand of scope on market.... there's a reason why PRS guys switched to them

But the fact that it is so boringly reliable is the reason I like it. Like my CZ for the same reasons. My Colt Government Pocketlite on the other hand, never a "boring" range session with it!

Ya, he did have a few bounce off the slide... could be ammo related. Not sure if what he is shooting is new or re-manufactured, but I have had experiences with Freedom Munitions where it wouldn't lock my slide back. I don't know. I'm not going to rush out and get one of these to replace my old gen 3 gun.

I got my Gen 5 G19 yesterday and and ran about 80 rounds through it today. Absolutely no issues with ejection or anything else. Just as I thought, I really like the lack of finger grooves with the Gen 4 frame. I also like the new finish. It looks and feels just like the old Gen 3 "frying pan" finish, so I hope it's as durable as that finish. The only thing I don't care for is the return of the half moon cutout at the bottom/front of the grip, but the other features are more than enough for me to overlook that. Because of the redesign of the firing pin safety, the trigger actually feels a little smoother than my other Glocks. As far as boring, all of my Glocks are boring - they just go bang every single time I pull the trigger whether I keep up with maintenance or not. I carry mine every day and if I need it, I expect it to go bang so boring is perfectly fine with me. I don't carry anything for appearance or status, just what I know will work.

Grizz, Glad you like your Glock. I have many pistols and my main carry gun is a Glock. It's not the most accurate, nor the most refined. But it's the ONLY pistol I can strip down with just a punch (the Glock tool). I'm not talking about field striping...I mean taking out the extractor, firing pin, etc...out in 2mn.
On my Sig P226, it's a pain. I'll have to send it for service at 5k rounds.
